| Scottish Ballet is Scotland's National Dance Company, run under the award-winning direction of Ashley Page OBE. With classical influences meeting modern dance styles, the Company presents a wide range of high-quality dance to audiences across Scotland, the UK and abroad. Scottish Ballet has a diverse, vibrant repertoire, ranging from new versions of the classics (The Nutcracker, Cinderella), through to seminal pieces from 20th century modern ballet repertoire, including work by George Balanchine and Frederick Ashton, and extending into signature pieces by living choreographers such as William Forsythe, Hans van Manen and Siobhan Davies. The Company is also keen to explore new pieces and regularly premieres work in Scotland. Scottish Ballet believes in pushing the boundaries of dance, with recent productions breaking away from the traditional image of ballet by using music from contemporary artists including Aphex Twin and Nine Inch Nails. | Gender | | | | Female | | | | Last Active | Profile Views | | 3 day | 3287 times | | | Share the Luv | | | 38 |

From ground-breaking American choreographer Stephen Petronio comes Ride the Beast. The work created for Scottish Ballet, is a celebration of raw energy and creativity. Untamed and truly unpredictable, Ride the beast is set to five emblematic tracks from Radiohead, and feautures designs by uber-cool New York fashion designer Benjamin Cho.
From Petronio's guru, Trisha Brown, comes the hauntingly poetic For MG: The Movie. Intrigued by the work of film directors who seamlessly move their charactersin and out of the frame, Brown reinterprets this in a fasinating piece set to a specially commissioned soundscape by maverick composer Alvin Curran.
Taking its cue from the music and cinema of the 1930s, Scottish Ballet’s Artistic Director, Ashley Page premieres a brand new ballet that borrows its title from Denn | | | Links | | www.scottishballet.co.uk
